Experienced Tube Reduction Mill Machine/Setup Operator

At Elgin Industries, we’ve been at the forefront of engine and chassis component manufacturing for more than a century — supplying world-class OEMs and aftermarket customers with top-tier American-made products.

We’re actively seeking an experienced tube reduction mill machine and Setup Operator to join our production team. If you know your way around tube reduction mills — and you’re confident in your ability to make quality-driven adjustments and tool changes — we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do:

• Set up and operate precision manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision
• Read and follow detailed work instructions and prints
• Make offset and tooling adjustments to maintain high-quality output
• Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges
• Use computer systems to log production data, access work instructions, and track part specs
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise to keep the line moving efficiently
• Assist in training less experienced operators when needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area (5S practices)

What You Bring:

• Proven experience setting up and operating tube reduction mill machines in a production environment
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality inspection standards
• Ability to read blueprints or technical documentation
• Solid understanding of tooling and machining concepts

Set up welder – Pushrod Department

The primary responsibility to set up and maintain equipment and to coordinate production activities in a given work cell or on a given work center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

• Sets up and makes machine adjustments as necessary to ensure optimum line up time and ensure efficiency of equipment.
• Oversees packing requirements if required at work cell or work center.
• Monitors and replenishes raw material inventory associated with cells or work centers.
• Follows safe work procedures.

Other Job Functions:

• Safely handles scrap during and after production run.
• Keeps area clean and organized in a 5S manner.
• May assists in training of other employees as required
• Assists other department to run production when needed.

Hourly pay range varies on experience: $16-$21

Maintenance Technician – 2nd shift

Responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and industrial systems. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently to ensure the efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Advanced Systems Maintenance:

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct in-depth troubleshooting and repairs of HVAC systems, industrial furnaces, and combustion systems.

Electrical Systems and Automation:

  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including replacement or repair of motors, servo motors, VFDs, and basic PLC tasks.
  • Assist in the installation and programming of PLC systems.

Mechanical Repairs:

  • Replace and repair advanced mechanical components, including gearboxes, belt drives, sensors, and industrial welders.
  • Perform complex welding tasks (Stick, MIG, Oxy Torch) for repairs and fabrication.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations during maintenance activities.
  • Train and mentor Maintenance Technician I personnel.

Hourly pay range varies on experience: $23-$30

What You Need to Succeed

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years of technical related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in aftermarket management sales, and business development.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive & heavy-duty aftermarket trends (internships or project experience are a plus!).
  • Excellent communication & relationship-building skills – you enjoy connecting with people!
  • Data-driven mindset – you love analyzing trends and making smart decisions.
  • Self-motivated & goal-oriented – you’re ready to take charge and make an impact.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office,(we’ll train you on our ERP specifics!).
  • Willingness to travel to meet customers, attend industry events, and grow the business.
