From mild to wild, Elgin Industries cams have wide selection. The Duntov 097 cam Elgin E-900-P is the traditional flat tappet mechanical classics for fuel injected 57 Chevy’s. The E-902-P Duntov 30/30 is the same grind that won the SCCA Trans Am series back in 1969 Z28 Camaros from Roger Penske, driven by Mark Donohue. Also popular from the muscle era is the Pontiac Ram Air III E-853-S and Ram Air IV E-778-S. Elgin’s Ford cams include Mustangs, Shelby’s, Cobra Jets, F100’s, FE’s and more. Here at Elgin Industries, we have been manufacturing auto parts in the same town (Elgin, IL), by the same family, for over 100 years. Support your local machine shop
As a factory, we cannot sell retail. We sell to warehouses, then they sell to retailers. There are very competitive prices online. However, there is priceless value of a good relationship with a reputable machine shop / engine builder. You could take a day and visit the shops in neighboring towns, counties, even the next big city. See what they’re working on, what they’re capable of doing, and if they retail parts. They likely already order parts from a warehouse that stocks Elgin, ask them if they can be competitive with the pricing of a couple part numbers. A little bit of mark-up compared to online, can be well worth the trade-off for free knowledge from a seasoned engine builder. If you do choose to buy online, it’s best to find a retailer that offers excellent customer service and supports the Elgin product line, they can also help you with other parts and complete kits.
Build your knowledge
If you have engine building experience or have advanced technical questions, we strongly recommend joining the AERA Engine Builders Association. Since 1922, they continue to be an excellent resource for engine building processes, specifications, failure analysis, and data for all platforms of engines. Today on their website they offer online machining and engine building certifications as well as automotive grants and scholarships.
Limited Lifetime Warranty
All components are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for as long as the purchaser owns the vehicle into which said merchandise is installed. This limited warranty applies to the first retail purchaser only and excludes normal wear. The warranty is void if the product is not installed correctly or normal recommended established precautions and installation procedures and testing are not followed.
Liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part. The manufacturer retains sole discretion in determining whether merchandise is defective and assumes no responsibility for diagnosis, removal, and/or installation labor, inconvenience or any other damages or expenses. EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT APPLICABLE STATE LAW EXPRESSLY MANDATES TO THE CONTRARY, THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR USE, AND ALL OTHER OBLIGATIONS OR LIABILITIES WHETHER FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHER DAMAGES (INCLUDING DAMAGES TO RELATED PARTS) ARISING OUT OF THE ITEM’S SALE, USE, OR OPERATION ARE EXCLUDED. To request repair or replacement of a defective item, please return merchandise in its original carton to the selling dealer. A copy of the dealer’s invoice must accompany the defective item.
